Transformation Tuesday!

Hello! 
     Good morning!
This is Mary L. She lost 56lbs!!!


Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
Before I started my weight loss journey, I felt unhealthy and out of control. I was spending most of my evenings and weekends in front of a TV, movie screen, or computer. I was eating out for dinner almost every night, and my choices were not healthy. I felt "pretty" but never felt good about how I looked. I would look at other women who were "normal" sizes and think that they were only that way because of their genetics and that I would not ever be able to look like them. Even after starting to lose weight, I still felt flabby, tired, and deprived as I cut calories.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
One morning I woke up and decided I was going to change! I was inspired every day to "push play" and motivated by the Decide. Commit. Succeed. tagline on the Beachbody workouts!!

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
My greatest challenge was having enough energy to keep up with my kids, who are 12 and 2. My son is especially active, and requires constant attention and chasing. He loves the outdoors, but I never had enough energy or motivation to take him outside. Now I am the one in the family asking to do outdoor activities like walks and bike rides! Because of the workouts and the nutrition programs, including Shakeology, I feel like I have the energy and the strength to do anything! I feel younger, stronger, and so much healthier. I actually feel like an athlete when I am keeping up with Shawn T in even the most intense workouts!

Why did you choose this particular program?
I first chose 10 Minute Trainer because of an infomercial I saw while traveling for work. At the time, I was doing mostly walking and running on a treadmill, and I was looking for a workout to burn more calories in a shorter amount of time. The 10 Minute Trainer promised an intense workout that I could fit in during short breaks in my work day. I quickly mastered that program and started to see the results. My body was building muscles and was transforming! At the beginning of June 2013, I found out a friend of mine was a Beachbody coach and was starting an Insanity program with a meal plan and Shakeology program. I had always been intimidated by those intense programs, but because she was going to be there with me for the journey, I decided to give it a try!

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
Insanity was amazing. It was very challenging, but that is exactly what my body and my mind needed. I was intimidated at first, but Shawn T kept me coming back for more. I saw my numbers improving at every fit test. I felt my body changing in ways I never thought possible. The weight was falling off, and most importantly I felt fantastic! I didn't need any fancy equipment and could do the program anywhere. And I did! I took the DVDs with me on business trips, family vacations, and even camping! I would set up in hotel fitness rooms and even outside and let anyone join me that wanted to. Shawn T is incredibly motivating and fun, and everyone who tried the workouts with me got the challenge of a lifetime!

Transformation Tuesaday!

Good Morning! 
This is Shannon H.

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I was always in "ok" shape up until I had my 3 boys within 3 years!! I gained 40 lbs with each pregnancy and each time it became harder to lose! By my 3rd pregnancy, I was exhausted!! Chasing around 2 little ones was difficult enough, but the extra weight made moving around almost impossible! I had hip pain, low back pain, poor posture, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel in my hands, migraines, no energy etc etc!!!! By the time I had my 3rd baby, I was ready to take action! I was NOT ok with living my life this way.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?

My biggest inspiration was of course my children! 3 boys under that age of 3 will keep you on your toes and I knew I needed to be in great shape if I wanted to keep up! They deserve the best version of me every day and I knew I needed to do something wth myself! My brother was also doing P90X and posting videos on FB about his journey. His commitment and vulnerability made me take notice and recognized that this was something I could do too!

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
The greatest challenge I faced was making time to exercise!! I had no idea how I was going to fit in exercise with 3 little ones at home! Since all I had to do was pop in a DVD, I started exercising during "nap' time, but then nap time came to a halt for my Toddler. So by the 3rd month of my transformation, I became the person who would sleep in their workout clothes in order to wake up early and get it done!! Now I truly enjoy making it the very first thing I do in the morning! My Coach Stephanie and the other Challegers in my group all motivated one another to MAKE the time and make it a priority! Just having a place to "put it out there" that I was going to get up early and workout, held me accountable to do it! By the second month of Insanity, I was hosting my own Challenge Groups and that's when I REALLY put in the hard work! Once you commit to something and ask others to follow your lead, it's almost like you HAVE to do it!

Why did you choose this particular program?
6 weeks after baby #3 I did Insanity, then Les Mills Combat, and just most recently finished Focus T25. And let me tell you, my body has completely changed and I have never looked or felt better in my life! It's hard to believe that you can make such a significant change in your body in 10 weeks, 25 minutes a day. When I started T25 I had no weight left to lose, but I wanted to tone up and THAT I DID!! 3 inches off my waist and hips and .5 in off my arms. And I am stronger and more energetic than I have ever been! Even I can't believe what I look like just 1 year after having baby #3. I am so glad I took that before pic just 6 weeks after having a baby. If I didn't have the side by side comparison pic, I wouldn't believe how much I've changed.

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
25 minutes a day gave me no room to make excuses not to get it done! Also, the RESULTS!! Seriously, my abs look better now than BEFORE I had 3 children!

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I lost 3 inches off my waist, 3 off my hips, 3 off my thighs and .5 off my arms. Did not lose any weight, but I had none to lose. My main goal was to tone up and gain lean muscle and that I did! I am proud that I completed the entire program and I'm proud of my after pic.

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
My life is amazing now. It always was before, but now it's EVEN BETTER! No more migraines, I eat healthier, I have more confidence, I'm much more positive and I attract positive people into my life. Once you start working to improve yourself, the rewards come to you in numerous ways. And Inspiring others to get healthy is the best reward of all. I am constantly getting compliments and people asking me how I can help them. It's the best feeling.

How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
I am now hosting my own groups, so just Coaching others keeps me in check. I don't want to ask my challengers to do something I'm not willing to do myself. On the days I don't feel like exercising, I see my challengers' posts and I don't want to let them or myself down, so I make it happen!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself


 and your body?*
Weighing in at 330 pounds, you would think that I would be sad, depressed, and hate my body. Truth is, I had a fantastic life. I've always known that my self worth wasn't determined by the number on my scale no matter how big or small that number was. Life before the program was as sedentary as they get. I had a desk job, I always parked as close to the front door as possible, drive thru everything, and always took the elevator. My diet was as bad as it gets.....if I liked anything that was bad, I had to make it even worse, and eat it to excess, and then eat some more. I didn't love the look of my body, or how difficult it was to move it, but I really didn't give it much thought because that's all I ever knew, being overweight since I was a child.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?*The moment I had my children I knew that I had to make a change for them. I wanted to set good examples for them so I could set them up for success! I knew that I wanted to spend as many quality years with my children as humanly possible, and I owed them that. I wanted to be an active participant in their lives and not a spectator watching from the sidelines wishing I had the energy to keep up. For the first time in my life, the reason I wanted to lose weight had nothing to do with vanity, and the end goal wasn't a number on the scale, or a pant size......the goal was HEALTH!
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?*The biggest challenge I faced, was one that many women with small children face......TIME! With 2 kids 16 months apart, and under the age of 2 and a husband that works full time, and me working part time, when was I supposed to be able to get to the gym? Beachbody programs helped me overcome that obstacle because I can do it in the comfort of my own home before my children wake up for the day, or while they're napping. I get a full body workout with little to no equipment. My other obstacle beyond time, would be knowing what to do. If I could make it to the gym, what am I going to do for a workout? Maybe walk on the treadmill for a little bit, maybe lift a few weights? I love that beachbody programs come with a workout calendar and tell you exactly what to do each day. It truly is like having a personal trainer in your own home. I love crossing off my workouts on my calendar!

How did a Beachbody Supplement or Nutritional Product or Program (such as Shakeology® or Beachbody Ultimate Reset®) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, digestion/regularity?I drink Shakeology daily, and have done the Ultimate Reset twice now. Shakeology is definitely my magic bullet. I love that no matter how much of a rush I'm in, I always have time for a quick shake that delivers all the nutrients I need pre or post workout to help me through my day. Shakeology is great for me because it's portion controlled and tastes amazing! The combinations are endless and delicious! I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to stop at starbucks for a high calorie, high sugar drink and decided instead to go home and make myself some shakeology and remain guilt free! After losing 175 pounds you would think that I would think that I have it all figured out about nutrition, but I didn't. The Ultimate Reset showed me what it was like to eat a clean, healthy, unprocessed diet, and showed me how my body functions so much better when I'm feeding it nutritious foods. It gave me an entirely different relationship and outlook when it comes to food!
How did a Beachbody Supplement or Nutritional Product or Program affect any existing health conditions you have?It might be easier for me to answer how they didn't affect health conditions! I had high blood pressure, was well on my way to type II diabetes, had to have my gallbladder out at the age of 21 due to poor eating habits, and had fatty liver disease! After doing my beachbody programs, and drinking shakeology daily all of those things have completely reversed.
Did you achieve any other measureable improvements with a Beachbody Supplement or Nutritional Product or Program? (e.g. Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, triglycerides, etc...)My blood pressure went from being uncontrolled even with medication (at the age of 30) to as healthy as it gets, my resting heart rate went from a high/normal level to that of an elite athlete, my blood sugars went from being in the high/normal range to the low normal range, and my doctors has absolutely no fear of me getting diabetes at this point......whereas before getting fit with beachbody it wasnt a matter of "if", it was a matter of "when".
