Workout Wednesday! P90x3

It is coming soon and will be released DECEMBER 10TH, 2013!

WHAT IS P90X3?

Great things come in 3′s, and that true with P90X3!  Imagine taking the cream of the cream fromP90X, the best moves from P90X2, and then combining them into a set of 20 workouts that only last 30 minutes a day…You’d get P90X3!!!  Tony Horton has been putting this new workout program together since November of 2012, so you know it’s going to be awesome.  We’re all incredibly excited to see what new and innovative craziness he came up with for this time around!

WHAT ARE THE P90X3 WORKOUTS?

For starters, each workout in the 20 workout set is 30 minutes.  Just like Shaun T’s T25, the idea here is to condense the amount of time you spend every day while still getting absolutely amazing results, guaranteed.  Workout efficiency!  There is a reason it’s called P90X3 “Accelerated”!
Here’s an updated rundown of the workouts found on the DVD’s-
  • Pilates
  • Yoga
  • CVX- Cardio Vascular Extreme- Basically, cardiovascular workouts with weights or medicine balls.    Exercises aimed at improving balance and range of motion.
  • MMX- Mark Briggs inspired, MMA style workout routines
  • Ab Ripper X3
  • Agility X (get low and MOVE)
  • Warrior Workouts (preview was given at the leadership event in California- AWESOME!)
  • Try-ometrics (think plyometrics, X3 style!)
  • Isometrics- alternating between upper and lower body movements.
Don’t forget- modifications will be available for those of you without all the P90X3 needed equipment.  No excuses!
Here are some results from the P90x3 Trial!

TRANSFORMATION Tuesday: A nurse who changed her life

Happy TRANSFORMATION Tuesday!

This is such an inspirational story, that I found this morning. This shows that with hard work and dedication you can do ANYTHING you set your mind too. It also shows that even having a very busy life, working a lot of hours, and have kids, YOU can take the challenge and get the results YOU DESERVE. Please read Jessee T.'s story, I think she is a great person to look to for inspiration and motivation.

As an RN, I see the negative impact that obesity and living an unhealthy lifestyle can have. I see patients every day who are in serious trouble due to their weight and poor eating habits. I never wanted that to happen to me, but there I was an RN, a mother of two beautiful kids, tremendously overweight, and too lazy to do anything about it.

I was disgusted when I saw myself in the mirror, horrified when I saw photos of myself, and finally, so fed up with myself, I decided it was time for a change. When I saw all the transformations people got using Beachbody programs, I knew that’s what I needed. So I started with Power 90 because I knew I was pretty far out of shape and wanted to go with a beginner program that wouldn’t be too much for me to handle.

I also joined a Challenge Group, and that was the best thing ever. I definitely think it was a key factor in keeping me motivated. We posted daily pictures of our Shakeology shakes, the daily meals we were having, and our workouts. I think we all saw awesome results, because we all stayed so actively engaged.

Shakeology made a huge difference, too. It kept my nutrition on track, and I can honestly say that I feel so much better—physically and mentally—since I started drinking it. (At first, I didn’t think Shakeology was a big deal. I only took it because it was in the Challenge Pack, but I was so wrong.) I’m regular. I don’t crave junk food. And I’ve lost weight.

I achieved incredible results with Power 90. I lost 26 pounds in just 90 days. I’m down 2 pant sizes, and I feel so much more comfortable in my own skin. I now have energy to run and play with my kids, instead of just watching them. I’m ready to take my Beachbody transformation to the next level with Focus T-25, and I know I’ll be a part of Beachbody for the rest of my life.

The programs and Shakeology are amazing. But there’s something else that helped me succeed—the people I’ve met through Beachbody. Instead of being influenced by negative people, I’m part of a positive community made up of healthy people who are living proof that Beachbody programs really work

Now, I’m a nurse who’s an inspiration because I’m a product of the Beachbody way of life. Doesn’t get any better than that!

“Invest in good wool socks.” – Benny C. Claremont, CA

“This may sound silly, but I keep a dress in my closet that is my ‘ideal’ size (not too small and not too big). I check it with it a couple of times and then I can see what I need to work on.” –Tiana M., Poughkeepsie, NY

“If I am cold, a nice cardio will warm me up and the cold is gone.” – Anna A., Los Angeles, CA via Facebook

Workout Wednesday! 7 Reasons to WORK OUT!

Hello!

How is everyone feeling today? I am feeling strong and empowered!

Today I am going to talk about the imporance of working out. :)

I am going to share some information that I found from a great website that got me really wondering, how many people know this?!?

# 1. Exercise controls weight

Exercise can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. When you engage in physical activity, you burn calories. The more intense the activity, the more calories you burn. You don't need to set aside large chunks of time for exercise to reap weight-loss benefits. It is important to get any kind of movement in everyday! A simple walk everyday can make a world of difference in your body and mood.

# 2. Exercise combats health conditions and diseases

Worried about heart disease? Hoping to prevent high blood pressure? No matter what your current weight, being active boosts high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or "good," cholesterol and decreases unhealthy triglycerides. This one-two punch keeps your blood flowing smoothly, which decreases your risk of cardiovascular diseases. In fact, regular physical activity can help you prevent or manage a wide range of health problems and concerns, including stroke, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, depression, certain types of cancer, arthritis and falls.

# 3. Exercise improves mood

Need an emotional lift? Or need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? A workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. You may also feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.

# 4. Exercise boosts energy

Winded by grocery shopping or household chores? This is something I hear very often from people that want to get into better shape. Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance. Exercise and physical activity deliver oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and help your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lungs work more efficiently, you have more energy to go about your daily chores.

# 5. Exercise promotes better sleep

Struggling to fall asleep? Or to stay asleep? Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster and deepen your sleep. This will also help with any stress you may have. Just another BENEFIT to getting a workout in during the day! Just don't exercise too close to bedtime, or you may be too energized to fall asleep.

# 6. Exercise puts the spark back into your sex life

Do you feel too tired or too out of shape to enjoy physical intimacy? Regular physical activity can leave you feeling energized and looking better, which may have a positive effect on your sex life. But there's more to it than that. Regular physical activity can lead to enhanced arousal for women. And men who exercise regularly are less likely to have problems with erectile dysfunction than are men who don't exercise. WOW another positive!!

# 7. Exercise can be fun

Exercise and physical activity can be a fun way to spend some time. Especially when you join others, or a challenge group to stay accountable. It gives you a chance to unwind, enjoy the outdoors or simply engage in activities that make you happy. Physical activity can also help you connect with family or friends in a fun social setting. Find a physical activity you enjoy, and just do it, do it with a friend, with a coach, with your family. If you get bored, try something new, there are many different classes, and programs that you can use to switch it up.

The bottom line on exercise

Exercise and physical activity are a great way to feel better, gain health benefits and have fun. As a general goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day. If you want to lose weight or meet specific fitness goals, you may need to exercise more.

This month is an ever better reason to start!!! Give & Recieve! :)

This goes for ALL Challenge packs!

Tell us about the greatest challenge you faced. How did you overcome that challenge?

During this program, the biggest challenge was my work schedule. For two weekends I had to travel to conferences for a few days. While most people would just take the days off, or use the treadmill in the gym, I decided to not let anything come between me and my workout program. I packed suitcases filled with my weights, my ladder, shakeology and my workout DVDs. I woke up at 4 am before my first meeting and did my workout. It felt good to know that after being over 300 pounds and losing over 150 pounds that I am dedicated and I always make finishing my workouts a priority.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody® program. What achievements are you proud of?Beachbody has helped me to achieve a level of fitness I never thought possible! When I weighed over 300 pounds I had begun to believe that I was destined to be overweight my entire life. My entire mindset has changed - Beachbody has given me the tools to transform my body through exercise and diet. Working out has become a part of my daily routine. I enjoy working out and look forward to pressing play each day. I have gained confidence that has spilled over into all areas of my life.

Is Your HEART Healthy?

Heart Disease: Are you at risk?

  1. Click on 'heart disease' in the column on the left side of the page.
  2. Click the arrow at the bottom of the next yellow box that says 'Click on the arrow below to begin the questionnaire'.
  3. Read my reflection, and then Comment below sharing about your own questionaire and things you can do to lower your risk! :)

When it comes to your health you want to make sure you are doing everything your need to do to make sure you will not put yourself at risk of disease. Heart disease is one the big ones that you can prevent. Preventative measures might include eating right; exercise, not smoking, and many other daily things people do everyday. You can also get screened and look in to your families health history.
Taking the heart disease questionnaire really opened my eyes to see how easy it really is to prevent hear disease from taking over my body. My level of risk for heart disease was “very much below average”, this made me very happy to see I am in fact doing some things right. Some things that I found I could change to prevent heart disease even further is, eat more fish, eat more carbs, eat more nuts, lose more weight (around 10-15 more pounds?) and maintain that weight, and eat more unsaturated fats. About a year ago I started to change my lifestyle to a healthier one, I started doing zumba 1-2 times a week, and counting calories. This helped me lose about 10 pounds, about six months ago I started to add in more ways to better my health. I started only eating organic food, and have now started to east gluten free and only grains. I also started working out daily for at least 30 minutes. The tips I was given after this questionnaire really matched up with what I am currently doing in my life now. I will continue to implement, and keep taking the questionnaire as I hit different goals I have set for myself so I can see my risk level go lower, and lower.
I have been doing a very good job working out, I workout for at least thirty minutes daily using my different at home workout programs. I do a variety, these include Focus T25, Turbo fire, Insanity, Brazil Butt Lift and Body Beast. I make sure that I am not over doing it and if needed take a rest. I have also been implementing healthy food choices, organic food choices, and gluten free food choices into our house and have been cooking using these choices so I can not only better my health, but also my families health. I also like to teach my husband and my children about the importance of healthy eating and exercise.  Daily, and also eating healthier options.

When it comes to health I want to make sure I am doing everything I need to do to make sure I will not be at risk, especially for heart disease. Heart disease is one the big ones that you can prevent fairly easily. With my risk level I am confident that it will not go higher, but it will go even lover than what it is at. I am happy that my risk level is low, and that I am on the right track for lowering it even more. I know there are more things that I can be doing to lower my risk even more, but I think I am doing very good, and am on the right track. One thing I feel I may have a problem with is eating more fish. I do not like fish, and I find it very difficult to eat it. I will look into different options to replace having to eat more fish, or may find different recipes that will help me enjoy it more. I am very happy with my risk level for heart disease and am glad I am on the right track.

What is your risk level, and what can you do to lower your risk?

Do you want help to lower your risk of heart disease? Reach out to me, make me YOUR coach! We can lower your risk together!
