New Opportunities, Why be a coach?

"Why  should I become a Beachbody coach?"
"Would I be a good Coach?"
"How could I help others?
I dont know much about fitness and health?"
"I dont have time to coach."
"I work full time, go to school, and take care of my family, I dont have time."

These are all questions, and comments I had before I became a coach. I am so glad I asked them, and decided to try something new! I couldnt be happier, and feel  more free!

Transformation Tuesday! :)

AMAZING TRANSFORMATIONS are made with support and love!

Check this girl out! AMAZING!

This is her story!:::
I have Type 1 diabetes and have been using insulin since I was 5 years old (I’m now 32 years old). After having my baby girl in 2010 I got really obese and didn't like how I looked, and I was tired ALL THE TIME! I even had problems putting on my shoes—it was that bad. I never wanted to go out and felt like everybody stared at me because of my weight. I got really depressed and dreamed of the day I could wear my old clothes again. I knew I needed to change, but how? Doing what? And did I really have the motivation in me?

After seeing a Beachbody Infomercial on TV, I went to my computer and spent hours sifting through pictures and videos of women (just like me) who achieved awesome results and success through a variety of Beachbody programs. And that’s when it hit me and I thought: If they could do it, I could do it! That’s when I decided to do something about my situation instead of just complain. Not only did I want to lose weight, I had to take control of my blood sugar. I want to see my daughter grow up. I need to be healthy for her. I need to be healthy for me!

I choose Hip Hop Abs because it looked fun and it seemed more like dancing than working out. Also, it was a low-impact program, which I really needed. And most importantly, I knew this kind of exercise would help me with my bigger problem—my huge belly!!! I worked out every day and drank Shakeology, and I’ve got to say, Shakeology really works! It curbed my cravings, gave me tons of energy, made me feel full, and stopped my constipation problems.

In just 2 short months I lost 37 pounds, went from a size 22 to a 12, and lost 10% of my body fat! Prior to Hip Hop Abs, my blood sugar was always over 250, now it’s lower than 140 every single day. I’m using less insulin than I ever have and feel amazing. I love how flat my belly looks now, and I can put on my shoes easily.

But I couldn’t have done this all by myself. Thankfully, I had an amazing Coach who was constantly checking in on me, asking how I was while sharing great advice. And I was part of a very supportive Challenge Group. I was more committed to my challenge, because other people were seeing my results, and I didn’t want them to see me fail.

I'm still so amazed how quickly my life changed. I love Beachbody and can't wait to keep going to the next level. Thanks for everything, Beachbody. Now I’ll be able to be part of my daughter’s life for a long, long time.

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?*
I've always been the "big kid". Was teased growing up and developed horrible self esteem. This led to many attempts at fad diets, binge diets, VERY unhealthy and dangerous habits, and an overall bad relationship with food. In high school, I starved myself and played sports. It was not a good combination. I also suffered from horrible panic attacks and depression. After college I began gaining weight rapidly. Fast forward many years and my husband and I welcomed our first son. I was nearly 300 lbs the day I gave birth. I dropped back down to the 250's after but this was the heaviest I had EVER been. I was not confident in ANYTHING I wore. I hated pictures and was miserable. I was easily out of breath and as soon as my son started crawling, I had fears that I would be that mom that HAD to watch from the sidelines because I was too fat to get out and play with my kids. Something had to change. I did not want my son to grow up ashamed of me or worst, be ashamed of himself.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?*It was a combination of things really. My husband and I both knew we needed to make a change. We were so strict about what Parker ate as we didn't want him to grow up eating horrible junk food and being overweight. But we realized we had to do this by example or it wouldn't work. We wanted to be part of our son's life. We wanted to go sledding, run and play sports, play tag, and overall go out and PLAY while he was still young! I refused to let my son grow up learning bad habits and being unhappy with who he was. I had to change in order to be the example he truly needed.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?*The greatest challenge for me was not giving up. I had tried so many things before and gave up too easily. My husband helped push me as he was going through his journey at the same time. We did it as a team. We began changing our relationship with food and focusing on our nutrition. The change to our diet led us to shed some initial weight. I then began to incorporate running and P90x (strength days) to help boost my fitness. I didn't follow any particular program as I didn't want to push myself to a point where I would give up. Then came Les Mills Combat. I knew I liked MMA type workouts so I decided to give it a go. This was the BEST thing to happen to me. I had FUN with the workout AND got results! This led to trying T25 and eventually Ultimate Reset. I knew Reset would help me with some of the physical issues I was having with my body. I wanted help with something that traditional medicine was NOT fixing!
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?*I love exercise and vegetables now. I have such a positive outlook on life and I can keep up with my toddler! We run around the house chasing each other laughing the whole time. I can run in the hard and play with him or chase him around the house and not feel completely drained. I continually look for ways to continue on my journey. I am eating cleaner and teaching my son about eating healthy and staying active. I no longer have to take ANY medication. The doctors told me I would always have a panic disorder and would most likely need medication my whole life. Well, I haven't had a panic attack in 2 years! I have chronic arthritis and back problems that I was told I would need medication for as well and possibly surgery. Nope, completely alleviated! My back doctor was THRILLED!

New Month, New YOU!

Happy OCTOBER!!

Today is not only a NEW day, but it also brings in the NEW month! There are many reasons why you may not think about eating healthy or exersizing right now. It is fall here in Minnesota, its starting to get cold, and we are all about layers, sweatshirts, and jeans. We are covering up our bodies, and also getting excited and in the mood for all those yummy fall treats.

As a Minnesotan, I am with you! I LOVE wearing my big thick sweatshirts and layers over layers, drinking hot apple cider, and making apple pies. Our family is even already making plans for Thanksgiving, and Christmas., which of course are HUGE feasts.  Who wouldn't have a hard time staying motivated to workout and eat healthy? I know I have been.  So here are a few healthier choices for you when you are craving those YUMMY snacks, drinks, and meals.

Gluten-Free (Organic) Apple Pie

Crust:
2 cups g-free all-purpose flour blend that does not contain xanthan gum
1/4 cup sweet rice flour (mochiko)
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon xanthan gum
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) cold butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 Tablespoons cider vinegar
1. Mix flour blend, sweet rice flour, sugar, xanthan gum, and salt in medium bowl.  Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture forms coarse crumbs.
2. Make a well in center of mixture.  Add eggs and vinegar.  Stir together just until dough forms.  Divide dough in half; shape into two flat discs.  Refrigerate at least 45 minutes or until very cold.
3. Roll each piece of dough on floured surface to circle slightly larger than pie pan.  (If dough becomes sticky, return to refrigerator until cold.)  Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to use.
Filling:
6 medium (organic) apples (Granny Smith is great), cut into 1/4 inch slices, peeled if you want
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup dried cranberries
2 Tablespoons cornstarch or tapioca flour
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1. Prepare the pie crust.  Generously butter a 9-inch pie pan.  Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
2. Combine apples, sugar, cranberries, cornstarch, lemon juice, and cinnamon in large bowl.  Toss gently.
3. Press one crust into prepared pan.  Arrange apple mixture in crust.  Place remaining crust over filling.  Pinch edges of crust together; trim excess pastry.  Cut slits in top of crust to vent steam.
4. Bake 12 minutes.  Reduce heat to 350 degrees F.  Bake 30-40 minutes or until apples feel tender when pierced with tip of sharp knife.  Cool on wire rack.

Old Fashioned PeanutButter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter (not the all-natural variety)
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350° F.
  2. Using an electric mixer, beat the peanut butter and sugars on medium-high speed until fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Reduce speed to low and beat in the eggs, baking soda, vanilla, and salt.
  3. Roll heaping tablespoonfuls of the dough into balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. With a lightly floured fork, press the dough to a ⅜-inch thickness, making a crisscross pattern on top of each cookie.
  4. Bake, rotating the baking sheets halfway through, until the edges are set, 10 to 12 minutes. Cool slightly on the baking sheets, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

Maple Baked Apples

Ingredients

  • 4 large apples
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup (about 2 ounces) walnut pieces
  • 1/4 cup golden raisins
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • Ice cream (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400° F.
  2. Using a paring knife, remove the cores and trim about a 1/2-inch slice from the bottom of each apple, so they sit flat. Place the apples in an ovenproof skillet or 8- to 9-inch baking dish.
  3. Drizzle with the syrup. Divide the walnuts and raisins among the apples, filling the cavities, and place any extra in the dish. Dot the apples with the butter. Bake until tender, 40 to 50 minutes.
  4. If using a baking dish, pour the liquid from the dish into a skillet. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook until it thickens slightly, 2 to 3 minutes. Spoon the sauce over the warm apples and serve with the ice cream, if desired.

I also wanted to post some motivation to keep you going and keep you on track, along with support.

Transformation:

This is Mandy Keel she won $10,000.

Mandy's first week of Power 90® was the hardest. The first day left her so sore that she wasn't sure she'd be able to continue one more day, much less another 89 days. However, her friends who had made it through the program encouraged her to Keep Pushing Play. By the time she and everyone around her started to notice changes in her appearance, Mandy knew that she could not only complete the program but that she wanted to start P90X® afterwards. In the end, Mandy's sweet tooth proved to be the most challenging obstacle to conquer, but since leaving her bad diet behind, Mandy's never looked back and she now enjoys her balanced diet even more than her old, more indulgent one. She lost 42 pounds and 8.8 inches off her waist alone, but it's not only about the weight loss—Mandy's lifestyle is completely different. She's got more energy and stamina than ever before and can now go hiking in the mountains around her house.

I dont know about you but those are AMAZING results she got from power90!!

***I like to use those as motivation and also post my next goal outfits! :) Below are two cute dresses I found to be appropriate for New years, and that gives me 92 days to REACH these goal dresses! :) Find a dres or outfit you want to fit into and post them! I would LOVE to see YOUR style. :)

Do you want support? Dont be shy I would love the company and the support myself! :)
