I started out weighing 220lbs [im 5'8] i was wearing a size 17 jeans! Now almost 9 months later I am almost 140lbs im wearing a size 3 [never in my life have i worn that size] I have abs & my Legs are so tone its INSANE!!! I am proud of everything i have achieved so far i have lost so much weight and finally have the body I have so badly wanted my whole LIFE since i was about 12 years old. A goal i had been trying to achieve my WHOLE life and Finally Thanks to Beachbody i was able to do it! Being able to stay with a workout for this long and eat healthy i just cant believe it but i am so HAPPY and PROUD of myself for what i achieved! Working out has become an addiction :)

Shakeology is the way I start my day! It gets me so focused and just pumped to start my day. I thought I got energy from Coffee but Shakeology gives me 10x more energy!
What tips or tools did you find most useful? What made them so instrumental?I have A.D.D. And Shakeology and E&E has helped me get so much more focused so my mind doesnt wonder during workouts and i can focus on that instead of everything else and Shakeology has helps me get energy so I can get things done during the day! Motivation Monday!

How to stay motivated longer... together.

1. Set goals

Make sure when you are setting goals there are both long term and short-term goals. For example my long-term goal is to weigh around 135-140 lbs. This is a long term goal because it does not come easy to loose weight, I also have to take into consideration that my body fat percentage will change, and I will lose fat and gain muscle which is more dense than fat. My short-term goals are to exercise daily, drink my shakeology daily, and also practice healthier meal options. I am doing all of these everyday to make sure that I can stay on track. Your nutrition is 70% of your results stay on track with your eating and you will do great.  

2. Get together with a group or a friend.

Get together with some friends, join a challenge group, or do it with a family member. Layout what you’re looking for, and what they are and be each other’s support. Challenge groups are a great way to stick to it because there are often times incentives. 

3. Make physical activity apart of your day

Do anything you can to get MORE activity into your day. Take the stairs, do some squats at your desk, do anything and everything you can to get your hear rate up a little bit multiple times a day. 


4. Write your goals down

This is a fun one. Get a big piece of tag board, and split it in half, now on one side (at the top) write long term and on the other side short term. Write your goals big and hang it somewhere you will look at it and READ it everyday. 

5. Be flexible

Yes, you can schedule your workout and make your meal plan but also plan for your plans to fail, be flexible. Make sure you have healthy options that are quick and easy to eat, and make sure that you have time to fit your workout in at another time incase you miss your time scheduled. 

6. Make it fun

Try new things! There are all kinds of programs, or classes out there for you to try; a lot of the trial classes are free. Get off the couch and pop in your new Brazil Butt Lift DVD or go out and try that yoga class. Make sure you don’t feel bad about doing your workout. It is all about your mindset. Go in motivated and positive; come out with even more results. 

7. Reward yourself


All those little milestones you will be hitting along your journey are going to be HUGE looking back, so make sure you are rewarding yourself. For example you stuck to your scheduled workouts for the week. That is great work! Go out and get a new pair of grip socks, or a new sports bra. Anything that will motivate you to do it again, do it!

Workout WEDNESDAY!

Gooooood Morninggggg!!!!!

The workout I want to talk about today is Focus T25 Beta phase, but also change.

As some of you might know I started this phase yesterday, so I am ONE day in, and I am AMAZED. I am noticing a difference in my body JUST from ONE workout. 

Now, I was doing the Alpha phase, NAILED it and decided it was definitely time to move on. I was a little nervous to because I was getting very good at it and had almost all the moves down. The downfall was that I was getting it done, and not feeling sore anymore. My body was getting used to the workout, and I wasn’t seeing changes in my body anymore. Keep in mind I was doing the Alpha phase for over 4 weeks, along with biking. 

This morning, again, after ONLY ONE Beta phase workout (Core Cardio) I am SORE, and can feel that my muscles have been kicked to get back in and start changing the rest of my body again.  I also have to say that I did this workout mostly going along with the modifier! So yes, it is hard! But if you want to SEE changes in your body, you have to PUSH, you have to FIGHT, your have to KEEP GOING, and you HAVE to be PATIENT! 

My WONDERFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, TALENTED cousin, and personal trainer, Amber Torres recently said to me... It is important not to stress about the number on the scale, but how you feel. It is important to stay consistent, 3 months of changing your habits is not enough to see the BIG changes. You HAVE to stick with it. Your body changes from the INSIDE out; you will start to feel better before you start to notice anything else. 

You will notice your health is changing, your wont be getting sick as often, and you wont feel as tired, or stressed, you will go to the doctor, and your blood pressure will lower, and you may not need your meds anymore. Then you will notice your muscles are starting to feel harder, and your body fat percentage will go down. Then, FINALLY, you will notice the changes in your body, you will look smaller, and leaner, and your clothes will start to fit differently. They will then start to be too big for you. That’s when you will notice that it is working, and you are changing your life for the better. 


SO this is what I am going to leave you with. Celebrate those moments, the small moments when you notice change in yourself, in your confidence. No, do not celebrate with food. Go out and get yourself a new sports bra, or shoes. DO something to celebrate YOUR hard work and dedication, and make sure it will continue your growth and dedication.

Healthy Cooking/ Transformation Tuesday!!

Good morning!

This morning for Transformation Tuesday, I want to ask you. How do YOU want to transfrom? What do YOU want to do to better YOURself? 

I am starting another challenge group and I feel the name is what says it all, Be fit for life, and Dont WAIT for New years, Do it for New Years! I cant tell you have many years my New Years resolution was to lose weight, get in shape, eat healthier. All of those things, and truth be told, THEY NEVER WORKED, my resolutions NEVER helped me to get motivated enough to workout, and eat healthier. SO I want to challenge you! What can I do to help you/ What can I do to change your life?


The body works from the inside out, you will start to feel better before you see results, you still start to have changes in your health before you see results. You will notice you are stronger, and have MORE energy BEFORE you see results! Push forward for all of those things, but also push forward for your results. It takes time, you have 3 FULL months before New Years. Take this time for yourself.

Healthy Living Thursday!

Good morning! I decided to start mixing it up a little, as I come across interesting topics, and health issues that maybe happening around us. Today I am going to talk about Garlic. What it is, what it can do for you, and the health benefits and risks. 

When looking for information I went on to the overview page of Web MD and found...

How does it work?

Garlic is an herb. It is best known as a flavoring for food. But over the years, garlic has been used as a medicine to prevent or treat a wide range of diseases and conditions. The fresh clove or supplements made from the clove are used for medicine. Garlic produces a chemical called allicin. This is what seems to make garlic work for certain conditions. Allicin also makes garlic smell. 

Possibly Effective For:

  • High blood pressure. Some research shows that garlic can reduce blood pressure in people with high blood pressure by as much as 7% or 8%. It also seems to lower blood pressure in people with normal blood pressure. Most studies have used a specific garlic powder product (Kwai, from Lichtwer Pharma).
  • “Hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis). As people age, their arteries tend to lose their ability to stretch and flex with age. Garlic seems to reduce this effect.
  • Colon cancer, rectal cancer, and stomach cancer. Eating garlic seems to reduce the risk of developing these cancers. However, garlic supplements don’t seem to offer the same benefit.
  • Tick bites. Scientists have compared the number of tick bites in people who take high doses of garlic compared to people who do not take garlic. High doses of dietary garlic, over about a five-month period, seem to reduce the number of tick bites.
  • Fungal infections of the skin (including ringworm, jock itch and athlete’s foot). Ringworm and jock itch respond to treatment with a garlic gel containing 0.6% ajoene (a chemical in garlic) that is applied to the skin. A garlic gel with a higher concentration of ajoene (1%) is needed to be effective against athlete’s foot. In fact, garlic gel with 1% ajoene seems to be about as effective against athlete’s foot as the medicine Lamisil.

 

Side Effects: (I copied and pasted this entire section, not wanting to miss side effects)


Garlic is LIKELY SAFE for most people when taken by mouth. Garlic can cause bad breath, a burning sensation in the mouth or stomach, heartburn, gas, nausea, vomiting, body odor, and diarrhea. These side effects are often worse with raw garlic. Garlic may also increase the risk of bleeding. There have been reports of bleeding after surgery in people who have taken garlic. Asthma has been reported in people working with garlic, and other allergic reactions are possible.
When used on the skin, garlic is POSSIBLY UNSAFE. Using as a thick paste (poultice), garlic can cause damage to the skin that is similar to a burn.

Special Precautions & Warnings:

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Garlic is LIKELY SAFE in pregnancy when taken in the amounts normally found in food. Garlic is POSSIBLY UNSAFEwhen used in medicinal amounts in pregnancy and breast-feeding. There isn’t enough reliable information about the safety of using garlic on the skin if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side, and avoid use.

Children: Garlic is POSSIBLY SAFE when taken by mouth and appropriately for a short-term in children. But garlic is POSSIBLY UNSAFE when taken by mouth in large doses. Some sources suggest that high doses of garlic could be dangerous or even fatal to children; however, the reason for this warning is not known. There are no case reports available of significant adverse events or mortality in children associated with taking garlic by mouth.

Bleeding disorder: Garlic, especially fresh garlic, might increase bleeding.

Stomach or digestion problems: Garlic can irritate the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Use with caution if you have stomach or digestion problems.

Surgery: Garlic might prolong bleeding. Stop taking garlic at least two weeks before a scheduled surgery.
