New Years Eve!!! Transform your LIFE Tuesday!

Good morning! Happy New Years Eve!

Do you make resolutions every year, but dont stick to them? Well here are some tips on how to stick to them ALL!
Plan ahead.
Notebook with New Year Resolutions on themIt's 11:59 PM on December 31st—do you know what your resolution is? For the best chance of success, set your goals long before you want to start them. Wiseman says that reflecting on your goals a few days before the New Year will make you more likely to choose a meaningful resolution2—which, of course, will make you more motivated to work for it. Still haven't set a goal? That's okay. Make one now and set yourself a start date a few days from now.
Shout it from the rooftops . . .
. . . or at least share it online. According to Wiseman's research, women were more likely to succeed if they told their friends and family about their goals.  After all, you wouldn't want to fail in front of a few hundred of your closest friends, colleagues, and high school exes—would you? Make your resolution Facebook official, tweet about it, or post a "before" photo on Instagram®. Accountability is your friend.
Strategize.
Once you've decided on your Big Important Goal, come up with a few smaller objectives that can help you get there. If you resolve to lose weight, commit to doing your INSANITY® workout every day. Or hire a personal trainer and buy sessions in bulk. Or take a two-mile hike every weekend. "Intention is very different than action," says Daniel C. Stettner, Ph.D., director of Psychology at UnaSource Health Center in Troy, MI, and an adjunct professor at Wayne State University in Detroit. "People have to come up with tactics and strategies. Otherwise, it's like driving to a destination without directions—you're not going to be successful."
Think positive . . . but not too positive.
If you paid attention in English class, you might remember "doublethink" from Orwell's 1984—the ability to accept two opposing beliefs as truth. In this case, you need to accept that you can succeed and that you can fail. In his book, 59 Seconds: Think a Little, Change a Lot, Wiseman points to research by psychologist Gabriele Oettingen, who found that imagining success kept people motivated, while imagining failure helped them form "avoidance goals."4 In other words, it's okay to fantasize about firing your annoying cube mate when you become manager—but also devise a Plan B in case you get passed over for this round of promotions.
Know thy enemy.
Willpower is overrated. According to a recent study in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, people were more likely to be successful if they avoided temptation altogether rather than expecting superhuman self-control to kick in.5 So figure out what changes you can make to sidestep your biggest roadblocks—can you take a different route to work that doesn't pass a bagel shop? Can you block Facebook on your computer to free up more time for new projects? Can you switch from your usual hangout to a non-smoking bar? A few small lifestyle changes can prevent big pitfalls
Reward yourself.
We all love instant gratification. So when you're pursuing a long-term goal like weight loss or digging out of debt, short-term rewards will help you power through. Just make sure the rewards jibe with the ultimate goal—don't reward a week of workouts by eating an entire chocolate cake. If you're trying to slim down, for example, Dr. Stettner suggests buying a new outfit you can't squeeze into (yet!) or working out with a friend so the reward is built-in.
Don't let setbacks derail you.
Spoiler alert: You're human, so you're going to screw up. Don't let it discourage you, and don't use it as an excuse to let the rest of the day (or weekend, or month) go down the tubes. "There are going to be lapses, but a lapse doesn't have to be a collapse or a relapse," Dr. Stettner says. "Seek persistence rather than the dirty P-word, perfection. Don't think, 'I went off the plan today, so I'll start over tomorrow.' Salvage it. Save the day."

Workout Wednesday!

Recently I had a conversation with an advisor from my school that really opened my eyes. Because I am going for a Health and Fitness major we often talk about his healthy eating and workout habits. He has to be care about what he eats now, and cannot over do workouts because he has had a surgery. He has in a sense "cheated" death two times in his life. While we were talking the other day I asked about how it’s going, and he said "I haven’t been doing my executive workout lately" (that’s what he calls it when he goes to the gym with his wife). So I naturally, as a fitness and health advocate, asked why not!? And this is the part that really caught my attention, and got me thinking. He said, He almost feels invincible; he has almost died twice in his life, and doesn’t feel like he really needs to change anything because if he were supposed to die, he would have already. Now I know it sounds completely crazy! (Sorry if you’re reading this Eric!) But it’s true. If you have been living your life how you wanted, gained weight, who doesn’t right, and then had to have a serious surgery, almost died, but made it through, would you change your lifestyle? Yea, the doctors and EVERYONE around you tell you that you HAVE to, but if you just "cheated" death, wouldn’t you feel more powerful? Well it sounds crazy, but if he does, I am willing to BET that others out there do too. I never thought about this before, and very glad I got to speak to him and really listen and understand how he feels. When you feel invincible you are not going to change because you’re NOT willing to. You may for a short time because the people around you want you too, but it will not last. It is very similar to having an addiction. Someone with an addiction will not seek help unless THEY want it. Same with a healthy lifestyle, it is a CHANGE of your entire LIFE. You have to WANT it, to actually go for it and CHANGE.
SO today I am posting some motivation, and some easy workouts to follow. I would also like to hear what others have to say about this post today, do you relate to this guy that I speak to? Or do you have a rebuttle???

My workout accoutability Photo: My mom wanted to join in, so we did the Cardio one. Looks like today might be a double day! :) :) :) I love feeling this good! lol But as you can see by my moms face lol it is WORK! haha! Goof!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body? *I had always been somewhat in good shape through highschool staying very active dancing. I never payed attention to nutrition and never thought in a million years I would gain so much weight. After I got married at 21 yrs old my life began to really slow down and I definatly wasn't very active! I gained 20lbs within 9 months of being married! While pregnant with my second child I ate and ate and ate every kind of food whenever I felt like it. I gained 50 more pounds while pregnant! At my all time heaviest 193lbs, I was so ashamed and embarrassed to even go in public. I never wanted to look at myself and was just plain disgusted with myself. I needed a change and I was determined!
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey? *When I checked into the hospital to deliver my 2nd child, I weighed 193lbs. Depressing!! I started talking with one of my husbands friends, who also had just given birth just 2 days after me, and discovered she was a beachbody coach. She introduced me to 10 day Shakeology challenges and for once I was learning about nutrition. I was shocked to see I had lost 7lbs in just 10 days changing my diet! I ending up winning the challenge and that just changed my mind set 100% and I was on fire and so determined to keep going! I started using Shakeology and working out regulary at my local Ymca and lost 63lbs. I still wanted to tone up and feel even better so I took the next step and ordered Insanity and totally fell in love with how it made me feel inside and out! I lost another 10lbs and am now in the best shape of my life and at a healthy 118lbs!
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge? *At first, I had never been to a gym. I was terrified to workout in front of people. I was in a new town, new people, and I was so nervous! My biggest challenge was stepping out of the box and forcing myself to go. Many days I had my workout clothes on and I just couldn't get myself to walk out that door. I'm glad I finally worked up the courage because facing that fear helped me get to where I am today! During Insanity, the biggest challenge I had before starting was finding time to workout at home with my two young boys to take care of. I began waking up at 5am to workout before everyone got moving for the day. That was tough! But by the end my body naturally woke up and I was pumped for my workout!

Motivation Monday!!

Happy Monday!!

Today for motivation I decided to try something a little different. I recently decided to do T25 again with a group of girls that wanted to do it too, and join a challenge. So here is my day one photo. Alpha Cardio, from the progam Focus T25. I almost forgot how much i love Shaun T's workouts!!! I was sweatin and feeling the burn! And I FOR SURE forgot how fast the 25 minutes go!! So now, for the next 60 days I will be posting my ACCOUNTABILITY photo here, and on my FB like page- www.FB.com/stephlapinski, and or course in my groups! Hows that for a daily dose of motivation?

One thing to remember when doing the longer challenges like the 60, or 90 day ones, you have to stick to it. For a long time! So I am going to NEED some support, love, motivation, encouragement, and tips! So feel free, actually I NEED YOU to comment or personal email me for support! lapinski.steph@gmail.com

GET IT DONE: IN 25 MINUTES A DAY!

Workout Wednesday!

HAPPY HUMP DAY!
Looking for motivation? Did you watch the Victoria Secrets fashion show last night? I noticed some people were hatin' on the girls in the show because they show too much or they are too thin. Anything they could think to critique they would. This is what I want to say to those people...
Why dont you take what they are doing and look at it like it is them giving you (as a woman) motivation, support, inspiration, and really are helping to push women to be HAPPY and COMFORTABLE in their OWN SKIN. How many of you ARE happy and confident in your skin? If your not, why aren't you? WHY dont you want to be comfortable in your own skin?
Are you scared?
Do you think that YOU could NEVER look like those models?
Are you afraid to start something, because you will not finish it?

^ Well guess what! I felt the SAME way YOU FEEL! But I jumed on board and have been WORKING my butt off! And I FEEL great! No, I do not look like these models.... yet. BUT thats not me, I am not a model, I want to be fit and happy and comfortable in my skin, so that I am CONFIDENT. And Guess what? Since I started my journey, I have become more confident, and happy, and I am getting more confortable in my skin. Have I failed? You bet I have. Did I quit? Hells yes, I have quit, many many times. BUT I DID NOT GIVE UP. I am still working at it and working HARD. Yes, my results are taking some time, but that because I am taking my time to really learn about health, and fitness. I am learning about the food, drinks, and vitamins I am putting into my body. I am changing my lifestyle, so I can HELP you FEEL CONFIDENT in YOUR skin. SO, do not feel bad or sad or depressed because of what you look like, do NOT compare yourself to those models on T.V. Instead look at them as a role model, if they can do it everyday, you can too. Set you mind to it and DO it.
SO, with that being said, Start here.... Use these easy workouts as a guide to get you started. AND Always remember, I AM HERE FOR YOU. You do not have to be a client for me to help you, and guide you. Email me (lapinski.steph@gmail.com) WHENEVER you want. I am here for you, because YOU are BEAUTIFUL.

REMEMBER Food is 80% of your results, working out is only 20%. Make sure you are eating right, and not over doing it. Get the Fit Pal app on your phone to track your daily intake!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body? *
For as long as I can remember I’ve always had weight issues. Back in grade six is when I became really self-conscious about it. For years I felt so uncomfortable in my own skin, I would always wear oversized sweaters all year around, no matter how hot it was outside. In jr high I remember always feeling like the outcast because I was always bigger than the other girls. I went through a stressful time in school and my way of dealing with it was to go home and eat. I decided to home school during high school, I was depressed and lost in every way possible. Food became my best friend. By the end of high school I was barely 5ft tall, weighed 210lbs and in a size 20 jeans. I was severely depressed and never felt so awful and embarrassed. I would find any excuse possible to avoid leaving my house and going out in public. I had absolutely no motivation to do anything and some days I couldn’t even manage to get out of bed.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey? *I first heard about P90X when I was at my lowest point in life. I was in such a dark place, depressed and questioning life and then I heard about this 90 day workout program. I felt this spark that I had never felt before. After doing some research, I knew right away that this was going to save my life. I was ready to take on this huge change and challenge in my life. It was basically do or die for me because if I hadn’t decided to change my life I wouldn’t of made it into my 20’s.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge? *My biggest challenge before I started P90X was my lack of motivation to do anything. Some days I felt so awful that I couldn't even get out of bed. I was severely depressed and never felt so awful and embarrassed. I even felt like I was an embarrassment to my own family. I would find any excuse possible to avoid leaving my house and going out in public, so being home schooled was the best excuse. As I started noticing results from the workouts, I was able to slowly make better food choices and drink more water because I was determined to get the best results possible. I was highly motivated once I started to notice a different in the way I felt, seeing changes in my body and how my clothes fit differently.. eventually my 'fat' clothes didn't fit anymore!
Why did you choose this particular program? *I chose P90X because I wanted to really challenge myself. I wanted to feel alive again for the first time in years. I was inspired by all the people who stuck with it and because of their determination and motivation, they got the results that they wanted! I knew it would be the most challenging thing that I had done in my life but I knew I could do it. At first I could barely manage to get through an entire workout video. I would have to pause it, sit down to catch my breath, and ask myself if I really wanted this. The answer was always YES, so I got up, pressed play again and did the best that I could being over 210lbs. Eventually it started getting easier each day and before I knew it I was able to finish an entire workout!
What in particular did you like about the program you chose? *I loved that P90X was a challenge and completely out of my comfort zone. Everything was new to me, especially using weights. Being able to follow along with Tony and the other cast members, seeing their determination and great form was very motivating and inspiring. When I first started P90X I could barely make it through the warm up!! I would have to pause it to be able to catch my breath but I knew if I just 'pressed play' everyday that it would get easier. Being shown how to modify the moves that I had trouble with at first helped me get through the first couple of weeks until I got stronger.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of? *My life has changed drastically since I started P90X. I started at over 210lbs and barely 5ft tall. I would look in the mirror everyday in disgust, I hated every single part of my body. I have lost 77lbs so far. Not only did I lose weight, but at the same time I gained muscle definition, motivation, confidence, mental clarity and self love. For the first time in my entire life I can finally say that I am truly happy. I took charge of my life and was able to overcome every obstacle that I was dealing with like severe depression and anxiety. For the first time in my life I know that I can achieve anything I set my mind to. I cant even begin to thank Tony Horton and Beachbody enough for saving my life.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program? *I still cant believe how much my life has changed! My eating habits have changed drastically. I now eat clean, lots of fruits and vegetables, no dairy, very little lean meats, and I drink at least 8 cups of water a day and I replaced one meal per day with Shakeology. Im so proud of myself for changing my life around at such a young age. I love the small things like being able to walk and not have to stop to catch my breath, not having to worry about my thighs rubbing together so severely that they would almost bleed. Im in the best shape of my life, the happiest I've ever been and in the process of changing my life around I found a passion for health and fitness.
